After 16 years of pro recording we have tried practically every speaker on the market in the hopes that we could find a system that would present our mixes realistically and translate those creations to the world at large. In the end we were forced to construct our own monitors that are used on a daily basis in our two working rooms at Studio 11 Chicago. Our laboratory is the real world application of our studio work, which we can hear for ourselves at clubs, festivals... even cars and home stereos around the world. Form follows function and our speakers are crafted to meet those real world ends.
The Model K Studio Monitors are a passive, ported, two-way design, meant to be powered by quality external amplification. They are designed to produce a flat response across the frequency spectrum without the muffled and disappointing sound of so many contemporary reference monitors. Our clients are typically exhilarated and shocked by the sonic lucidity and definition upon every listen. We put the bells and whistles, and aesthetics, back where they belong... inside the box! That being said, there is nothing cheap or deluded about these loudspeakers. They produce a pure rush of air that is unrivaled in the industry and backed up by quality and sound engineering.
